The short version

The tools are free to use. Be decent: only share designs and pictures you have the right to share, and nothing illegal or hateful. If you pay for the supporter plan you can cancel any time. Donations are gifts. Design Your Profile is run by one person in the United Kingdom; questions go to [email protected].

Using the tools

• Every tool is free, with or without an account. They’re provided as they are, and while we work to keep them reliable, we can’t promise they’ll always be available or free of mistakes.
• Check your files on Steam before relying on them. Steam can change how profiles work at any time.
• Don’t try to break, overload or misuse the site, its servers or other people’s accounts.

Accounts

• Accounts are optional and use Steam sign-in. You’re responsible for what happens on yours.
• You can delete your account, and everything saved with it, from My designs at any time.
• We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms.

Your designs and pictures

• What you make is yours. By saving it online, you let us store it and show it the way you choose: only to you (Private), to anyone with the link (Link only), or in the library (Public).
• Only upload pictures and share designs you have the right to use. Public designs should be your own work.
• Never post anything illegal, including child sexual abuse material, terrorist content or content that infringes someone else’s rights. Also not allowed in public designs: sexual content, hate or harassment, threats, spam or advertising, impersonating others, or anything meant to scam or harm.
• Points Shop items and Steam artwork belong to Valve and the game developers. Use them on your own Steam profile as Steam allows.
• Use Report on any design in the library, or email [email protected]. We review reports, can hide or delete content and ban accounts, and remove illegal content as soon as we’re aware of it.
• Free accounts’ designs and pictures are deleted 3 months after the last sign-in.

The supporter plan

• The supporter plan costs $2.99 a month (or the yearly price shown when you subscribe) and is paid through Stripe. It renews automatically until you cancel.
• Cancel any time on the Plans page. You keep the plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again.
• If you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, email [email protected] and we’ll refund that payment in full. Other payments aren’t refunded, except where the law says they must be.
• When a plan ends, you go back to a free account. You then have 14 days to choose which designs to keep within the free limit; the rest are deleted after that.
• We may change what the plan includes or its price. Price changes apply from your next renewal, and we’ll tell you first.

Donations

• Donations are one-off gifts to help run the site. They don’t buy anything, and they aren’t normally refunded.
• If you made a mistake, like the wrong amount, email [email protected] within 14 days and we’ll refund it.
• You choose whether your Steam name appears on the supporters wall. We may hide any name from it.

Our responsibility

We’re responsible for loss we cause by breaking these terms or not taking reasonable care, where that loss was foreseeable. We aren’t responsible for losses we couldn’t have foreseen, or for business losses. Nothing here limits our liability where the law doesn’t allow it to be limited, or takes away your rights as a consumer.

Changes and the law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when. If a change matters for supporters, we’ll say so before it applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protections of your local consumer law.
