Add YouTube videos to your Steam profile

Steam doesn't host profile videos itself. The Video showcase shows videos from your YouTube channel, so you link the two first.

How to do it

  1. Upload your video to YouTube and make it public.
  2. Open your Steam profile in a web browser and go to Videos.
  3. Choose Add Videos from YouTube, sign in to your Google account and allow access.
  4. Tick the videos you want, pick the game each one is for if you like, and add them.
  5. Click Edit Profile, open Featured Showcase and pick Video showcase for a slot.
  6. Click each spot to choose a video, then save.

Questions

Can I upload a video file straight to my Steam profile?
No. Steam profile videos come from YouTube. You link your YouTube account, add the videos to Steam, and they show from there.
Why is there no Video showcase in my list?
Players report it only shows up once you have added at least one YouTube video to Steam. Some also say they had to unlock it in the Points Shop first, so check there if it still doesn't appear.
Why don't my YouTube videos show up?
Only public videos can be added. Private ones won't show. Players also suggest linking YouTube in a web browser rather than the Steam client.
Can I show an animation without YouTube?
Yes, as an animated GIF in the Artwork or Workshop showcase. It plays right on the profile, no clicking needed.
